I blend experience in organisational consulting, facilitation and psychotherapy in my work with organisations, teams and partnerships. I believe that organisational change is best achieved, most sustainable and most transformational when team members are engaged in a process of exploring the whole system as it currently exists. By raising awareness collaboratively of the current reality, future directions can emerge,  and movement start to happen.

Accordingly, I work with organisations to enhance dialogue, connectivity and quality of engagement between people and to establish reflective collaborative spaces to optimise engagement in change, growth and problem solving. This approach of co-creation, working in the present is effective at enhancing cohesion and flow within an organisation

My approach is systemic, embodied and creative, drawing on embodied and systemic coaching techniques, including constellations work, and building on a foundation of facilitating performance improvement projects. The starting point for exploring the system is looking at what is is present within individuals, before looking at the shared relational field, the organisational reality and the wider operating environment.

My approach may be useful for your team, organisation or partnership if you are looking to:

  • understand and improve team dynamics
  • form new teams and partnerships
  • work with discord, and resolve conflicts
  • respond to new business opportunities
  • respond to challenges and financial threats
  • reflect on practices and processes and/or realign to values
  • improve organisational performance
  • Embed new working practices and cultures

What I offer:

Training,  experience and theoretical influences.

Business Coaching and Performance Improvement Facilitation
Between 2005 and 2013, I worked as a Performance Improvement Facilitator and Business Adviser (SFEDI Accredited ), facilitating dozens of performance review projects using a model for social enterprises developed from the Business Excellence (EFQM) model, writing toolkits, and running training for advisers as part of the C3 partnership. In this time I also facilitated business planning and review programmes, and social impact measurement projects using SROI and set up and ran coaching programmes, training programmes and Action Learning Sets.

Relational Psychotherapy
Since 2009 I have been training and working as a psychotherapist. Psychotherapy works at depth to understand patterns of relating to self and others. It is an intimate partnership in a complex process of change, which is subtle and profound where awareness, acceptance and letting go of unhelpful patterns of defending against pain and trauma are key. I increasingly work within a gestalt framework, where contact between people, in the ever changing moment, with energy and creativity can offer experiences that things can be different which are exciting and transformational. I bring these insights and techniques into organisational work.

 Whole Intelligence.

The practice of Whole Intelligence, developed by Malcolm Parlett,  www.wholeintelligence.org
resonated with me the moment I came across it. It offers a reorientation of core gestalt theory to contribute to the resolution of some of humanity's current challenges. I joined a research partnership exploring the application of the practice of Whole Intelligence to groups and organisations. Whole Intelligence explores five areas, responding to complexity in the wider systems of which we exist, inter-relating with others, embodiment, relf recognising and experimenting. I find these five areas an exceptionally useful frame of reference in all of my work,

Systemic and Embodied Coaching

in 20126, I have commenced training as a systemic and embodied coach with Jenny MacKewan  https://jennymackewn.com/project/training-in-embodied-systemic-coaching/. There is considerable synergy with Whole Intelligence, Gestalt Theory and a systemic way of thinking which has always resonated with me. It is in Systemic and Embodied Coaching that I find specific frameworks suitable for organisations and partnerships, which work at depth whilst mobilising energy and momentum for change, including systemic mapping, constellations, 4D mapping and social presencing theatre. For more, see the Presencing Institue. https://www.presencing.org/

Facilitation and Group Dynamics

I have a deep commitment to inclusion and engagement and have always been fascinated by facilitation and group dynamics. I have completed courses with ICA on techniques of participation
https://ica-uk.org.uk/public-training-courses/ , Institute of Group Analysis on Group Analysis https://www.groupanalysis.org/ and Manchester Gestalt Centre on Facilitating therapy groups.

I draw on my interest in Gestalt psychology, systems theory,
group analysis and change theory.
